Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • The roadside emergency call box system on State Routes 1, 9, 17, 129, and 152 in Santa Cruz County is being taken out of service. The network of about 65 call boxes is no longer managed by the RTC due to a significant drop in usage.
     
  • CHP helped with construction work at the intersection of Highway 1 South and Park in Capitola / Soquel. This was reported yesterday.
     
  • CHP helped with construction work at the intersection of Highway 9 and Kings Creek Road in San Lorenzo Valley. This was reported yesterday.
     
  • South Highway 1 at Route 129 in Watsonville / Pajaro is facing closures for guardrail work. The closure will last until 5:59 a.m. on August 3.
     
  • Alternating lanes are closed on South Highway 1 at Bay Avenue in Capitola / Soquel because of drainage work. The closure will end at 6:30 a.m. today.
     
  • Highway 9 at Cascade Avenue in San Lorenzo Valley has one-way traffic due to ongoing work. This closure will last until August 31, ending at 7:01 a.m.
     
  • Highway 9 is facing closures in both directions at Pool Drive in San Lorenzo Valley for bridge work. The closure is expected to end at 5:59 a.m. today.
     
  • A lane on South Highway 9 at Mitchell Drive in San Lorenzo Valley is closed for bridge work. The closure will end at 5:59 a.m. today.
     
  • Alternating lanes are closed on Highway 9 at Riverdale Park in San Lorenzo Valley because of bridge work. The closure will last until 6:59 a.m. on April 30, 2027.
     
  • A lane on east and west SR-129 at Highway 1 in Watsonville and Pajaro is closed for curb, gutter, and sidewalk work. The closure will last until 2:59 p.m. on August 3.
     
  • A lane is closed on North/South Highway 9 at Arboleda Way/Highland in San Lorenzo Valley because of survey work. The closure will last until August 3 at 3:01 p.m.
