  2. Don’t think astronomy can be exciting? Emily Levesque is interested in liberating you from that opinion.  
  3. He grew up in Santa Cruz, the namesake of the town’s most beloved musician, and now he’s gone on to become one of the jazz world’s finest saxophonists. Welcome home, Donny McCaslin.
  4. This weekend is the moment to geek out on model trains, as Roaring Camp Railroads unveils a scale model of the Central Coast, complete with redwoods, mountains and the Boardwalk.
  5. How deep is your love for the Brothers Gibb? “You Should Be Dancing” brings the disco-licious greatness of the Bee Gees to the Rio.
  6. Can they possibly be as cool as their band name? Check out The Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash, and report back. 
  7. Country star Jesse Daniel is a “Son of the San Lorenzo,” to borrow a song title, and The Catalyst is his hometown club. See the homecoming Friday.
  8. I’m going just for the wigs. “Marie Antoinette” opens this weekend at Cabrillo.
