Here, find a curated list of the best food and drink events in Santa Cruz County for the coming week. At the top, I share my picks of unmissable local happenings.
This Saturday, toast famed Scottish poet Robert Burns on his 266th birthday at the Burns Supper at Steel Bonnet Brewing Co. in Scotts Valley. San Jose’s Celtic Tea Shoppe will pop up with a menu of pasties, pies, brittle and other Scottish fare starting at 4 p.m. Musician Peter Daldry will play Celtic music from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and Steel Bonnet’s Scottish, English and American ales and lagers will be on draft. This event is free.
On Monday, support local education while enjoying fresh, organic, healthy food. From 11 a.m to 10 p.m., a portion of sales at Charlie Hong Kong in the Midtown neighborhood will go to support nearby Gault Elementary School, helping fund vital programs and resources for students. Proceeds from dine-in, takeout and delivery orders will support the school.
