This Saturday and Sunday, Bargetto Winery in Soquel is hosting its annual Art & Wine Festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m both days. Now in its 35th year, the event features more than 30 local artists and food vendors selling everything from jewelry and leather goods to mosaics and photography, as well as locally made balsamic vinegar, salami, candies, preserves and much more. On Saturday, taco truck Taquizas Gabriel will be on site, and on Sunday it’s L’Appetito Wood Fired Pizza. Wine tasting from Bargetto and live music round out the day. Entry is free. A $20 festival glass can be purchased to taste wine.
The Homeless Garden Project’s annual Sustain Supper returns Saturday. This is the only supper this year – usually, there are two events – and chef Reylon Agustin from Sierra Mar at Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur is preparing the entire meal, rather than several chefs collaborating.
Anne Kapuscinski, the director of the Coastal Sciences & Policy program at UC Santa Cruz, is the keynote speaker.
The event starts with a tour of HGP’s farm near Natural Bridges State Beach in Santa Cruz and a reception with local wines and kombucha, Alta Organic coffee and tea, and live music. The $150 ticket price goes directly to HGP, a local nonprofit organization that provides job training and transitional support to individuals experiencing homelessness.
