Downtown breakfast and lunch spot Ibiza is harking back to its former days as Barceloneta with a Turkey Paella Dinner on Saturday. Owners Brett and Elan Emerson are creating giant turkey and chorizo paella featuring winter squash, green beans, saffron, rosemary and sage. The feast includes a cheese course, bread and olive oil, Ibiza’s famous Hippie Salad, paella and a dessert of churros and hot chocolate, and wine or alcohol-free beverages. Tickets are $75 per person.

At the Homeless Garden Project’s Holiday Celebration this Saturday, the Santa Cruz-based nonprofit is hosting a screening of “Food, Inc. 2,” with author Eric Schlosser at The 418 Project in downtown Santa Cruz. Schlosser co-wrote and produced the film with Michael Pollan, and has written several books and stories on America’s food systems. Baked treats by Capitola bakery Dani O Bakeshop and seasonal beverages will be provided, along with HGP’s handmade products. Tickets are $19.98.
