Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on June 20

  • A traffic collision happened today at 728 Cable Ct in Eastside / Live Oak. The extent of injuries is unknown, and no voice contact was made during the report.
     
  • A hit and run happened at the intersection of 7th Ave. and Brommer St. in Eastside/Live Oak. A white sedan hit a parked black truck and left debris on the road. The sedan’s driver abandoned the car in the middle of the road. No one was injured. Emergency services and a tow truck were sent to the scene. The incident was reported today.
     
  • A traffic collision involving two vehicles happened at the intersection of San Andreas Rd and Dairy Rd in Watsonville/Pajaro. A state employee was involved, but it’s unclear if they were in a personal or work vehicle. Emergency services were on their way, and a tow was requested for a gray van. The incident was last updated at 9:30 p.m. It was reported today.
     
  • South Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel is facing closures for roadway excavation. The closure will last until 6:30 a.m. on August 29.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • A single lane on Sims Road and La Madrona Drive, from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive, is closed for a pipeline project. Traffic control is in place, and the closure is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily until February 2026.
     
  • Richmond Drive at Portola Drive and 24th Avenue in Eastside/Live Oak will have road closures due to the Rodeo pump station capacity upgrade project. Expect traffic delays and lane closures on Richmond and Portola Drive, weather permitting. Construction is scheduled for April 12-13 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
