Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on October 10

  • Traffic was backed up on Salinas Road and Werner Road up to Hall Road because of road or weather conditions in the Watsonville and Pajaro area. This was reported today.
     
  • A traffic incident involving a motorcycle and a vehicle happened at the intersection of 41st Ave. and Gross Rd in the Eastside / Live Oak area. CHP was called to help with traffic control. The incident was reported today.
     
  • There is a one-way traffic closure on North Highway 9 at Prospect Avenue in San Lorenzo Valley because of emergency work. The closure is expected to end at 3:59 p.m. on December 5.
     
  • Construction crews will start work next week on Highway 9 in Ben Lomond, Santa Cruz County, to install new ADA-compliant curb ramps. The project is set to begin on October 13 and will improve pedestrian access and safety in the area.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • Richmond Drive at Portola Drive and 24th Avenue in Twin Lakes is closed because of ongoing project work. The road will stay closed until October 31 due to unexpected issues that are taking more time to fix.
     
  • PG&E has started work to replace a gas main in the Arroyo and Jolon Drive neighborhood off Green Valley Road in Corralitos / Freedom. There is a soft road closure in the area, and construction is expected to continue through November 25.
