Lookout Santa Cruz will partner with CalMatters to host a forum on California’s statewide ballot questions from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bookshop Santa Cruz.
CalMatters, a statewide nonprofit news organization and Lookout content partner, will break down, analyze and answer questions about this year’s ballot propositions.
The event is free and open to the public, but has limited in-person capacity, so those planning to attend are asked to RSVP here.
CalMatters is on a tour of the state, providing in-person information to voters statewide and is heading to libraries, bike depots, restaurants, college campuses and other community spaces to bring people together across the state to talk about what’s on the ballot this November.
There are 10 referendum questions on this year’s statewide ballot, including measures that would increase penalties for some crimes, raise the minimum wage, allow cities to adopt rent control measures, constitutional amendments on same-sex marriage and forced prison labor, and bond issues that would support school construction and climate initiatives.
