The Murray Street Bridge reopened just before 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, marking the end of a near seven-month closure of the major east-west artery over the Santa Cruz Harbor.

Traffic was sparse early Wednesday afternoon, given the time of day, with more cyclists than cars heading from the Seabright neighborhood toward Live Oak. Only the eastbound lane reopened.

More changes could be coming soon, as the city weighs two-way traffic control along the reopened lane. City officials expect to have a decision on that plan within a few weeks.
