Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • Defective traffic signals were reported at the intersection of Soquel Dr and Cabrillo College Dr at 6:43 p.m. on October 16.
     
  • There is a one-way traffic closure on North Highway 9 at Prospect Avenue in San Lorenzo Valley because of emergency work. The closure is expected to end at 3:59 p.m. on December 5.
     

Property development

  • The Santa Cruz Planning Department has received a zoning application regarding 230 Rio Del Mar Unit K in Aptos. The application proposes to renew an existing permit that allows the two-bedroom property at this address to continue operating as a vacation rental for stays of less than thirty days at a time. Approval of a vacation rental permit is required for the renewal to proceed. (view application)
     
  • A permit application has been filed for a major redevelopment at 206 BAYVIEW Ct in Aptos. The proposal calls for demolishing the existing 750 square foot single-family home and constructing a new two-story residence with a total area of 2,791 square feet. Plans also include a 443 square foot attached garage and a 500 square foot attached Junior Accessory Dwelling Unit (JADU). Because the property is located within the coastal zone, a Coastal Development Permit is required for this project. (view details)
