Property development
- The Santa Cruz County Planning Department has officially approved a zoning application for a new vacation rental at 635 Beach Drive, Aptos, as of July 30. This project involves converting an existing single-family home into a three-bedroom vacation rental, with each rental period capped at thirty days. Located approximately 525 feet southeast of the intersection of Rio del Mar and Beach Drive, the property required a vacation rental permit under Santa Cruz County Code section 13.10.694. Public comments were accepted until July 17, and the decision was made shortly thereafter. Residents wishing to appeal the decision have a two-week window to do so. Any concerns regarding the vacation rental can be directed to the emergency contact, O’Neal Vacation Rentals, as listed in the application. (view application)
