Property development

  • The Santa Cruz County Planning Department has received a zoning application for a proposed project at 504 Cliff Drive in Aptos. The project seeks approval to remodel both the interior and exterior of the existing two-story, 2,023 square foot single-family home, as well as to add another bedroom. Because the property is located within the coastal zone, the project requires a Coastal Development Permit. (view application)
     

Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • There is a one-way traffic closure on South Highway 9 at Lorenzo Avenue in San Lorenzo Valley because of emergency work. The closure will last until April 1 at 3:59 p.m.
     
  • A lane on North Highway 9 in the Westside / Downtown area is closed for shoulder work. The closure will last until 3:01 p.m. on February 28.

  • A person was arrested for assaulting someone with a weapon and causing injury to a spouse or former partner. The incident happened near the 100 block of Canterbury Drive in Santa Cruz County at 6 p.m. on January 29. (source)
