A 19-year-old Milpitas motorcyclist died in a crash on Highway 1 near Laguna Road, involving a Mini Cooper driven by a 24-year-old San Jose woman, who sustained minor injuries. The highway was closed for hours.

Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region
- A traffic accident happened today on the southbound side of Highway 17 near the Pasatiempo Drive off-ramp. A gray Toyota Camry and a white Toyota Celica or similar vehicle were involved. The crash occurred when a vehicle in front braked suddenly, causing the car behind to swerve and collide. People stopped in the roadway, and those involved were on the right-hand side.
