Today, there was a traffic stop on SR-1 South at Park to safely move some equipment from the middle of the road to the side. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) helped out, and Caltrans made sure drivers could see what was happening.
Long-term projects: On Soquel San Jose Road, between Rancho Soquel Road and Conference Ground Road, there’s a single lane closed for stormwater damage repairs. This started on June 17 and will last until the end of October, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. You should expect delays and possible road closures up to 30 minutes during these times. Also, Highway 1 between 41st Avenue and Soquel Drive in Santa County will be fully closed overnight from August 25 to August 28 for construction. This work is part of a project to add auxiliary lanes and bus-on-shoulder improvements, as well as a new bicycle and pedestrian path.
