Property code violations
County officials cite property owners for issues such as substandard housing, illegal uses of buildings, property maintenance, abandoned appliances or furniture, construction without permits, and other issues that affect public safety and quality of life.
- Santa Cruz County officials have issued a code violation notice for the property at 5000 Glen Haven Rd, Soquel, CA 95073-9565, under code compliance case number NV25379. The violations cited include conducting grading activities without the necessary county permits, constructing an accessory structure on a parcel that does not have a primary permitted use or building, and storing construction materials on the property in a manner that does not meet county regulations. These actions are not permitted under local building codes, and the property owner has been notified of the need to address these issues.
- A code violation notice has been issued for the property at 914 41st Ave., Santa Cruz 95062, under case number NV25383, processed on July 21. The notice cites two main violations: first, the business was found to be operating beyond the scope of its permitted use for a surf/skate retail business, meaning activities were taking place on the property that were not authorized under the existing use permit. Second, an outdoor shower was installed on the property without obtaining the necessary building permits from the County. These violations highlight both unauthorized business operations and unpermitted construction at the site.
