Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • A lane on Highway 1 at Bay Avenue in Capitola / Soquel is closed due to a traffic break. The closure is expected to end at 301 p.m. on December 14.
     
  • There is a one-way traffic closure on South Highway 9 at Lorenzo Avenue in San Lorenzo Valley because of emergency work. The closure is expected to last until 3:59 p.m. on April 1, 2026.
     
  • One-way traffic control is in place on Highway 9 at 13.4 Bear Creek Road in San Lorenzo Valley because of ongoing work. The closure is expected to end at 3:59 p.m. on December 15.
     
  • South Highway 17 is facing closures at Atloaf Road in Scotts Valley. The closure will last until 7:59 a.m. tomorrow.
     

Farmers’ market Sunday

The Corralitos Farm & Garden Market is a small, friendly, open air market made up of local farmers and gardeners who grow within about a five mile radius of Corralitos. Seasonally is has strawberries, blueberries, cherries, lemons, tomatoes, herbs, squash, potatoes, carrots, peas, beets, and avocados, as well as a variety of other fruits, vegetables, lettuces and salad greens. Bakers offer treats, along with a table full of beautiful potted flowers. You may find expertly handmade natural soaps, and homemade jams and preserves.

Community crime report

  • A residential burglary was recorded on video surveillance. The incident happened near the 1900 Block of Freedom Blvd., Watsonville, at 2 a.m. on December 10. The person arrested is a juvenile. (source)
