Property development
- The Santa Cruz County Planning Department is accepting public comments through Aug. 19 on a zoning application for a project at 70 Sunset Beach Rd. in Watsonville. The proposed project seeks to replace a failed agricultural well (well #4), currently located adjacent to San Andreas Road, with a new well approximately 700 feet south of the existing site, adjacent to Sunset Beach Drive. The new well will be constructed with a 16-inch casing and a 16-inch stainless screen, with the final design to be determined following exploratory drilling. Because the project requires a Coastal Development Permit, residents are encouraged to submit any comments or concerns to the Planning Department before the Aug. 19 deadline. (view application)
