Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region
- South Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel is facing closures for roadway excavation. The closure will last until 6:30 a.m. on August 29.
- Long-term projects: On Sims Road and La Madrona Drive, from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive, a single lane is closed for a pipeline project. Traffic control is in place, and the closure is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily until February 2026.
On Richmond Drive at Portola Drive and 24th Avenue, there will be road closures due to a pump station upgrade project. Expect traffic delays and lane closures on April 12-13 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting.

- The Santa Cruz County Planning Department has received a zoning application to convert the existing single-family home at 131 Anchorage Avenue into a two-bedroom vacation rental. This property is situated on the western side of Anchorage Avenue, approximately 170 feet north of its intersection with East Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz.
