Planned Parenthood’s downtown Santa Cruz clinic shut down abruptly Thursday, William S. Woodhams reports, after a federal court order allowed Medicaid funding cuts to go ahead for most of the abortion provider’s clinics in California. The Santa Cruz location was one of five to close in the greater Bay Area; Planned Parenthood’s Watsonville clinic remains open.
