West Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz reopened to two-way traffic after repairs. A community event is planned for August 15. The RTC received $128.7M for multimodal projects to improve transportation between Santa Cruz and Watsonville.

Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • One-way traffic is in effect on North/South Highway 9 at Prospect Avenue due to drainage work. The closure is expected to end today at 3:59 p.m.
     
  • The southbound lanes of Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel are facing closures for road excavation. This closure will continue until August 29 at 6:30 a.m.
     
  • A lane on North Highway 1 at Buena Vista Drive in Watsonville/Pajaro is closed for shoulder work. The closure is expected to end at 4:59 a.m. today.
     
  • The southbound lanes of Highway 17 in Eastside/Live Oak are facing closures for drainage work. The closure will last until July 2 at 7:01 a.m.
     

Farmers’ market Tuesday

The Felton Farmers’ Market is the second oldest market in Santa Cruz County. On Tuesdays during late spring through early fall, a collection of regional farms and food businesses throw up their tents to sell a colorful array of fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, eggs, artisanal bread, seafood and other staple foods.

Community crime report

  • A suspect was reported for defrauding an innkeeper and possessing a bad check. This happened near the 100 block of Loch Lomond Way, Santa Cruz, at 6 a.m. on June 13. (source)
