Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • There is a one-way traffic closure on South Highway 9 at Lorenzo Avenue because of emergency work. The closure will last until April 1 at 3:59 p.m.
     
  • There was a three-car crash with possible injuries on Highway 1 South at Bay Porter, near Capitola and Soquel. All lanes were closed and traffic was being diverted at Morrissey. CHP helped with construction and traffic control. The incident was reported yesterday.
     

Property development

  • The Santa Cruz Planning Department is currently accepting public comments on a zoning application for 1156 Lakeside Drive in Felton, where the applicant is seeking to renew a permit to operate a two-bedroom vacation rental. The proposed permit would allow overnight lodging for stays of up to 30 days at a time. Residents who wish to share their feedback or concerns about this project must submit their comments before the public comment period closes on March 12. After this date, no additional public input will be considered for this application. (view application)
