Community crime report

  • A 40-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication after being found wandering the streets in a highly intoxicated state and causing a disturbance. Concerned residents called the police, and the incident occurred at 10 p.m. on March 13 near 789 Oak St in Watsonville. (source)
     
  • A 28-year-old woman was arrested for vandalism after she was caught spray-painting graffiti on the side of a building. A witness reported the incident to the police, and she was taken into custody at the scene. This happened at 9 a.m. on March 13 near 456 Elm St in Watsonville. (source)
     
  • A 34-year-old was arrested for shoplifting at a local grocery store after trying to leave with unpaid items. The store manager called the police to report the incident, which happened at 2 p.m. on March 12 near 123 Main St in Watsonville. (source)
     

Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • A lane on South Highway 1 at Soquel Drive in Eastside/Live Oak is closed for landscape work. The closure will last until 11:59 p.m. on March 31.
     
  • Long-term projects: On March 4, there was a lane closure on southbound Highway 1 between Soquel Ave. and 41st Ave. from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. due to ongoing construction work.
