Community crime report

  • A 40-year-old man was the victim of false imprisonment, a felony, on March 3 at 2 p.m. near the 100 block of W Lake Ave in Watsonville. The incident involved a statement from the assistant manager at 15 W. Lake Ave. (source)
     
  • A 36-year-old man was arrested for having illegal paraphernalia after a traffic stop around 2 a.m. on March 3 near Beach St. and Union St. in Watsonville. He was given a citation and released at the scene. (source)
     

Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • A lane on South Highway 1 at Soquel Drive is closed for landscape work. The closure is expected to end by 11:59 p.m. on March 31.
     
  • Highway 1 between Soquel Ave. and 41st Ave. in Capitola/Soquel had a southbound lane closure yesterday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for construction work on auxiliary lanes, bus-on-shoulder improvements, and a new bicycle path.
