Wilma Marcus Chandler and Dena Taylor have launched a collection titled “When A Woman Tells the Truth,” featuring essays and poems by 80 women over 80, with a reading event scheduled for June 4 at Bookshop Santa Cruz. A well-known painted lady Victorian house on the Westside of Santa Cruz, owned by George Ow Jr. and his wife since 1975 and standing since the late 180s, is now for sale. The labor board has denied UC’s request to halt the ongoing student strike at UC Santa Cruz, which protests the treatment of pro-Palestine student demonstrators, with plans to continue in-person classes next Tuesday.

  • On May 22, at 10 a.m., there was an incident near the 200 Block of Church St in Santa Cruz where someone was found with illegal drugs and items used for drugs. The police were called to help look into the matter. (source)

A person who already had legal issues due to several serious accusations was involved.
