The Santa Cruz County Fair kicked off its five-day run Wednesday, bringing both familiar traditions and exciting new attractions to the estimated 50,000 visitors expected this year.
The opening night was highlighted by the high-flying FMX Rampage motorcycle stunt show, while fairgoers explored the classic attractions including agricultural displays, livestock exhibits, arts and crafts pavilions, and an array of food vendors that make the county fair a beloved annual tradition. The fair wraps up Sunday.
Lookout photographer Kevin Painchaud captured the opening day festivities.

New to the fair this year, Pro Wrestling Revolution brought out colorful characters drop-kicking and suplexing their opponents.
