Until the end of January, creative locals can try their chances to come up with the winning theme of the next Santa Cruz County Fair.

Community members can submit ideas for themes that reflect the diversity of Santa Cruz County and touch on one or more topics: Youth in Agriculture, Crafting and Arts in Santa Cruz, Stepping into the Future, Coastal Life, or Celebrating Agriculture.

Last year’s winner beat 85 other submissions with the theme “Pioneer Days to Modern Ways.”

In addition to the accolades of being champion, the contest winner will receive four free tickets and a parking pass for the 2025 county fair.

Visitors can see the winning theme at the county fair from Sept. 10-14.

Anyone can participate by submitting entries by mail or email to the county fair until the deadline at 5 p.m. Jan. 31. Email info@santacruzcountyfair.com or mail to Santa Cruz County Fair, Theme Contest,  2601 East Lake Ave., Watsonville 95076.
