The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office was still searching Monday for “at-risk” 73-year-old Jeanne Burke, who was most recently seen last Tuesday near the Felton quarry.

Sheriff’s deputies and volunteer search-and-rescue teams are continuing to survey properties and rough terrain near Smith Grade Road, Moore Ranch Road and surrounding areas. The sheriff’s office urges anyone with information on Burke’s whereabouts to call 831-471-1121, and that all local residents in the area check their properties for her.

Burke is considered at risk for medical reasons. She was seen Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in the area of Moore Ranch Road and was wearing a red and black plaid jacket, black pants, one pink sandal and one black sandal. Burke is 5 feet tall, of a medium build, with long grey hair, blue eyes and wears glasses.

Search and rescue personnel are also reviewing their GPS trackers to identify areas that they might have missed during their search these past seven days. Volunteers have been wearing trackers to record their movements and areas they’ve covered throughout the operation.

“The investigation remains open, and we will continue to follow up on any new information that becomes available,” the sheriff’s office said in an update on Monday morning. “Our thoughts remain with the family at the center of this search, and with every responder who has given their time and heart in service of others.”

On Sunday, the sheriff’s office said there were 115 search-and-rescue team members from several counties searching for Burke.
