This weekend, local staple Staff of Life Natural Foods Market marks 56 years of serving Santa Cruz County with an anniversary celebration.
The family-owned business, which started as an organic bakery in 1969, plans to offer in-store food tastings, product demos, café specials and wine and beer samplings on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
“This anniversary is not just about looking back, it’s about celebrating the people, farmers, and customers who’ve supported us every step of the way,” said Staff of Life owner Gary Bascou, owner of Staff of Life Natural Foods.
The three-day event the store’s Santa Cruz location at 1266 Soquel Ave. will offer daily discounts on hot bar items, skirt steak, gelato and smoothies along with discounted wine and beer tastings from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday and 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. On Friday, guests can sample heritage beef skirt steak from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a SmartChicken demo and tasting from 2 to 5 p.m.
The store is also offering $1 off all coffee drinks on Friday, $2 off smoothies and juices on Saturday and $4 gelato on Sunday.
