Surf City Comic Con is back and better than ever! Mark your calendars for April 5th, from 9 AM to 5 PM, as fans of all ages gather for an exciting day filled with comics, cosplay, vintage toys, and community fun, brought to you by Hadbro Toys. Taking place inside the Capitola Mall, in what used to be the old Sears space, this year’s event promises something for everyone–a must-visit for comic book lovers, toy collectors, cosplay enthusiasts, and families alike!
The event kicks off with a special $15 premier pass that grants early access for the first hour. General admission is set at just $10, with kids 10 and under getting in free with a paid adult. With plenty of free parking, everyone can enjoy the day on a budget. Surf-City Comic-Con is also thrilled to introduce additional executive staff from local businesses that are eager to enhance the convention experience.
New to the Con this year will be the highly anticipated Cosplay contest, hosted by world renowned cosplay player Sindi and allowing contestants of all ages to show off their creativity and skills. This contest has a cash grand prize of $200, and will be a major focal point for this year’s con.
Surf-City Comic-Con will feature exciting attractions including the Golden Gate Garrison of the 501st Legion and the Sacramento Ghostbusters, along with a variety of coin-operated video games and a day of tabletop tournaments hosted by Sword and Board Games. Attendees will also discover a vibrant ‘artist alley’ showcasing local talented artists with their exclusive artwork and products, along with some of the top vintage toy vendors and comic book sellers from all over the Bay Area. Plus, there will be amazing food options from a variety of food trucks, and don’t miss out on the unique photo ops available throughout the venue!
Whether you’re a hardcore comic or toy collector who really wants to take their fandom home with them, a cosplayer looking to showcase your skills, or just someone looking for a fun day out, Surf-City Comic-Con has something for everyone.
