Seafood-focused food truck Miches and Ceviches has a new brick-and-mortar location on 41st Avenue, just a few blocks away from the Hook surf spot inside Off the Hook deli. Its menu of fresh, made-to-order ceviches, aguachiles, tostadas and tacos offers huge flavors inspired by owners Perla Pineda and Sergio Ferreira’s family gatherings.

Field begins to coalesce in races for three Santa Cruz County supervisor seats
Incumbent Manu Koenig is facing a challenge from pro-rail Lani Faulkner in District 1, while the retirement of Zach Friend in District 2 has so far seen three candidates — Kristen Brown, Kimberly De Serpa and Douglas Deitch — file paperwork. Monica Martinez and Christopher Bradford are running to replace Bruce McPherson in District 5, with Sheriff Jim Hart still seen as a possible candidate.

Tushar Atre murder: Case against one suspect in killing of Pleasure Point tech exec returns to court
More than three years after four suspects were charged in the murder of Pleasure Point tech entrepreneur Tushar Atre, the case of one of the defendants charged in Atre’s death, Stephen Lindsay, returns to a Santa Cruz County court Friday. His defense attorney is seeking to suppress evidence including surveillance footage and bank records, arguing that there was insufficient probable cause to support a search.
