Santa Cruz will get some more rain this weekend, but nothing major as two systems roll through over the next few days. Going forward, it appears that El Niño conditions have morphed into La Niña conditions, but that doesn’t make the local effects any more certain.

The intense storm could bring as much as four inches of rain to lower county elevations and 4-6 inches of rain in the Santa Cruz Mountains, with some areas receiving localized rainfall of more than eight inches. As expected, Santa Cruz County received a drenching overnight Saturday into Sunday, accompanied by strong winds. More than 4 inches of rain fell in parts of the mountains, while more than 2 inches of rain fell in lower county elevations. Stormy weather will continue through Sunday, but is forecast to taper off during the night and early morning, as predicted since late last week.
