Road incidents for the morning of Feb. 3

  • A fire was reported at the intersection of Aptos Creek Fire Road and Aptos Creek Road, near the Forest of Nisene Marks State Park in Aptos. The incident was first reported at 7:20 a.m. and updated at 7:59 a.m. today.
     
  • Alternating lanes on northbound and southbound Highway 1 at State Park Drive in Aptos are closed for a striping operation overnight this week, beginning at 9 p.m. and lasting until 5 a.m.
     
  • A lane on southbound Highway 1 at Soquel Drive is closed for landscape work. The closure is expected to end by 11:59 p.m. on March 31.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • A single lane on Little Basin Road in the San Lorenzo Valley is scheduled to be closed until April 25 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for the construction of two retaining walls, causing traffic delays.
     
  • A single lane on Little Basin Road near Big Basin Way in the San Lorenzo Valley is closed for storm damage repair. Expect traffic delays until May 13, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.
