Road incidents as of 8:30 a.m. on March 11

  • South Highway 9 at Lorenzo Avenue in San Lorenzo Valley has one-way traffic because of emergency work. This closure will last until April 1 at 3:59 p.m.
     
  • A lane on westbound SR-152 at Clifford Drive/Ohlone Parkway in Watsonville and Pajaro is closed for asphalt paving. The closure will last until July 3 at 5:59 a.m.
     
  • CHP helped with construction work on Highway 1 southbound at the Buena Vista Drive offramp in Watsonville / Pajaro. The northbound Buena Vista Drive offramp was closed from the time of the report until about 9:30 a.m. today. Construction was scheduled from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
     
  • A hit and run happened around 7:50 a.m. today on northbound Highway 17 near Sugarloaf Rd, at the intersection of Mt Hermon and La Madrona in Scotts Valley. Both vehicles pulled over to the right shoulder. The person who reported the incident first said they used a PIT maneuver to stop the other car, but later said they just drove in front of it to slow it down and make it pull over. No one was hurt.
     
  • A hit and run happened at 3204 Porter St. in Capitola / Soquel at 6:27 a.m. today. A white Ford Explorer was involved and was last seen heading east on Soquel San Jose. The crash caused more damage to a pole and barriers that were already damaged. No one was hurt, and fire or medical help was not needed.
     
  • A traffic collision with no injuries happened at 163 Merrill St. in Eastside / Live Oak at 8:09 a.m. today. At first, vehicles were blocking the road and couldn’t be moved. Fire crews moved one vehicle, but one lane is still blocked.
     
  • A white minivan went off the road and got stuck over an embankment at 17255 SR236 in San Lorenzo Valley. The front of the vehicle was smashed into the roadway. No one was hurt. Tow services were called to recover the vehicle. The incident was reported today.
