Road incidents as of 8:30 p.m. on December 24

  • A traffic hazard was reported today on northbound Highway 17 at the Mt Hermon Road offramp in Scotts Valley.
     
  • A traffic hazard was reported at the intersection of Blossom Way and Cielo Dr in Scotts Valley at 7:36 p.m. today. By 7:56 p.m., PG&E had closed the road because of the incident.
     
  • A tree fell and blocked the road at Fernwood Ave. and Oak Ave. in Aptos, Santa Cruz County. The road closure was first reported at 8:05 p.m. today.
     
  • Defective traffic signals were reported at 7:01 p.m. today at the intersection of Crg12 and Las Lomas Dr in Watsonville / Pajaro. The area was fairly dark with moderate traffic, and vehicles were not stopping at the intersection. PG&E was notified but did not have an estimated time for fixing the signals. Law enforcement was requested to help with traffic at the scene.
     
  • A traffic hazard was reported at the intersection of Empire Grade and Alba Road in the Bonny Doon/Davenport area on the evening of today.
     
  • A traffic hazard was reported at 7:51 p.m. today on State Route 236 between 15642 and 15927 in San Lorenzo Valley. The road was blocked, and emergency services, including fire and PG&E, were notified. A Metro bus needed help turning around at the lower end of the closure. CHP and other agencies were handling the situation.
     
  • There is a one-way traffic closure on South Highway 9 at Lorenzo Avenue in San Lorenzo Valley because of emergency work. The closure is expected to end at 3:59 p.m. on April 1, 2026.
