Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on Apr. 4

  • A single-vehicle collision happened on Highway 17 North near the Mt Hermon Road off-ramp in Scotts Valley. The vehicle was initially sticking into the roadway but was later moved to the right-hand side. No occupants were seen outside, and there are no immediate reports of injuries. The incident was reported today.
     
  • A traffic collision happened today at 1396 Dolphin Dr, Aptos, involving a vehicle and a parked silver BMW convertible. The BMW then hit a gray Toyota RAV. No injuries were reported. A tow was requested, and local deputies were notified to assist.
     
  • A vehicle caught fire and was completely destroyed at Amber Ridge Loop and Bear Creek Rd in San Lorenzo Valley. Someone tried to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher. The California Highway Patrol was called to help. The incident was reported today.
     
  • A lane on North/South Highway 9 at Pool Drive in San Lorenzo Valley is closed for electrical work. The closure is expected to end today at 1:01 p.m.
     
  • A lane on North Highway 9 at Pool Drive in San Lorenzo Valley is closed for emergency work. The closure is expected to end today at 3:01 p.m.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • A single lane on Little Basin Rd in San Lorenzo Valley is closed from December 23 to April 25 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for the construction of two retaining walls, causing traffic delays.
     
  • Little Basin Road near Big Basin Way in San Lorenzo Valley will have single lane closures for storm damage repair from January 16 to May 13. The closures will happen between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., weather permitting, and may cause traffic delays.
