Have something to say? Lookout welcomes letters to the editor, within our policies, from readers. Guidelines here.

Sometimes you can learn what a media outlet is about by what they do not cover as opposed to what they do think is newsworthy. With Lookout, I enjoyed the article about local Iranians having a vigil to grieve over the massacres happening in Iran today, but I saw no follow-up. How many people showed up? Were there any city proclamations or calls for our local governments to do or say something? Whether it was well attended or not would be a story.

Where was Lookout when the Museum of Tolerance came to two Pajaro Valley Unified School District campuses? Front page in the Sant Cruz Sentinel, but nothing in Lookout. Fighting bigotry and racism should be a priority, but this story was ignored. I thought at least on Jan. 27 there would be something about International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the ceremony at the Home of Peace Cemetery in Santa Cruz.

Again there was nothing. Are these stories and issues unimportant?

Making Lookout available to students is not helpful if important local stories like these are missed.
