Tae Yun Kang, a first-year literature and linguistics student at UC Santa Cruz, remembers fellow student Zainab Mansoor, 21, as kind, compassionate and someone uniquely able to make strangers feel welcome. Mansoor died in February and police have arrested her boyfriend, a former UCSC student, on charges of homicide. King tides are back in Santa Cruz County this week
The National Weather Service says Santa Cruz County will see king tides starting midweek and peaking Thursday and Friday. High tides are expected to rise up to 6.9 feet around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday and 11:19 a.m. on Friday.
