Quick Take:

Santa Cruz Works hosts an online event to express gratitude to those who’ve gone above and beyond to help the community survive 2020

Between COVID-19, the CZU fires, and an economic crisis not seen in decades, 2020 has offered a variety of opportunities for heroism in the face of crisis. And Santa Cruz Works is looking to recognize some “Hometown Heroes.”

The business/tech network will be hosting “Hometown Heroes 2020,” honoring 10 locals for the work they’ve done in keeping Santa Cruz County afloat in a stormy year.

The online event will take place Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m., and will honor people from non-profits, business, government, and other areas who worked hard and sacrificed for the sake of the community.

Tickets for the event are $10. Members of Santa Cruz Works and employees of Santa Cruz County Schools are admitted free with promo code. Ticket information.
