Property development

  • The Santa Cruz County Planning Department formally approved a zoning application on October 27, 2025, for a project at 339 Beach Drive in Aptos. The application seeks to renew vacation rental permit number 191368, allowing continued operation of a four-bedroom vacation rental at this address. The property management company handling the application is requesting approval to maintain the property’s use as a vacation rental. Public comments on the application are being accepted until November 8, 2024, and a decision regarding the permit renewal is anticipated on or shortly after November 15, 2024. Appeals to the decision may be filed up to two weeks after the decision date, and those interested in requesting a public hearing should contact the designated project planner.
