Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region
- Long-term projects: – Daytime shoulder work is happening on northbound Highway 1 between Dimeo Lane and Coast Road, north of Santa Cruz, starting today through September 12. Crews will be installing new overhead cable on utility poles, working Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
– The Park Avenue ramps on Highway 1 will reopen before the Bay Avenue ramps close for a long-term project. Construction is ongoing for new auxiliary lanes and bus-on-shoulder improvements on Highway 1 between the Bay Avenue/Porter Street and State Park Drive interchanges in Santa Cruz County.
