Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • The southbound lanes of Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel are facing closures for road excavation. This closure will continue until 6:30 a.m. on August 29.
     
  • Long-term projects: On Sims Road and La Madrona Drive, from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive, a single lane is closed for a pipeline project. This closure is in effect daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with traffic control in place. On Richmond Drive and Portola Drive at 24th Avenue, there are road closures due to a pump station upgrade project. Expect traffic delays and lane closures from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather permitting. On April 12-13, construction will occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
     

Property development

  • The Santa Cruz County Planning Department has received a zoning application for a proposed project at 22021 East Cliff Drive, Santa Cruz 95062. The proposal aims to establish a new vacation rental at the existing unit on this site, which necessitates obtaining a vacation rental permit. Residents are encouraged to submit their public comments on the application by September 5. A decision regarding the permit will be made on or after September 8, and any appeals must be filed within two weeks following the decision date. Should any issues arise concerning the vacation rental, they can be reported to the designated emergency contact. (view application)
     

Restaurant inspections
