Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

• The southbound lanes of Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel are facing closures for road excavation. This closure will continue until August 29 at 6:30 a.m.
   
• Long-term projects: – On Sims Road and La Madrona Drive, from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive, a single lane is closed for a pipeline project. Traffic control is in place, and the closure is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily until February 2026. – Richmond Drive at Portola Drive and 24th Avenue is experiencing road closures due to a pump station upgrade project. Expect traffic delays and lane closures, depending on the weather. Special construction hours were on April 12-13, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.

• Residents of Santa Cruz County are encouraged to submit their comments on a zoning application for a dining establishment at 915 41st Avenue before the deadline on June 19. The proposal involves adding beer and wine service and an outdoor dining area to the existing restaurant, which is located within 200 feet of a residential district.
