  • Pizza My Heart at 2180 41st Ave., Capitola, passed a county health inspection on April 7 with no critical issues.
     

Community crime report

  • A sexual battery incident was reported, involving unwanted intimate touching. It happened near the 300 Block of Ocean St., Santa Cruz, at 1 a.m. on April 4. (source)
     
  • A domestic violence incident causing injury was reported near the 1000 block of Dakota Ave., Santa Cruz, at midnight on March 18. (source)
     
  • A case of extortion and attempted extortion was reported. The incident happened near the 100 Block of S Morrissey Blvd., Santa Cruz, at 1 p.m. on April 5. (source)
     
  • A person was arrested for misdemeanor battery against a spouse or ex-spouse. The incident happened near the 600 Block of Riverside Ave., Santa Cruz, at 2 a.m. on April 5. (source)
     
  • A person was accused of violating an order meant to prevent domestic violence, with multiple counts of the same charge. The incident happened near 259 WATER Street, Santa Cruz County, at 11 a.m. on March 16. (source)
     
  • A person was arrested for having a hidden gun in their vehicle and carrying a loaded handgun that did not belong to them. The incident happened near 259 WATER St., Santa Cruz County at 1 p.m. on March 17. (source)
     
  • A person was arrested for having a controlled substance and had two or more previous offenses. While at the county jail, officers found a white crystal-like substance in the back of the patrol car where the person had been sitting. The person was booked into the county jail. This happened around midnight on March 18 near the 100 Block of Grant St., Watsonville. (source)
     
  • A person was charged with having a controlled substance, a narcotic, and illegal drug paraphernalia, as well as carrying a concealed dirk or dagger. Some charges will be served at the same time under a conditional sentence. The incident happened near the 1000 block of Soquel Ave., Santa Cruz, at 10 a.m. on March 17. (source)
