Property code violations

County officials cite property owners for issues such as substandard housing, illegal uses of buildings, property maintenance, abandoned appliances or furniture, construction without permits, and other issues that affect public safety and quality of life.

  • The building code violations first cited on January 27, at 2331 Mattison Ln, Santa Cruz (case NV25338), have now been addressed, according to county officials. The violations included operating a commercial activity on a residentially zoned (R-1-6) parcel, installing an additional electric meter without the required permits, and keeping bees on the property, which is not permitted in the R-1 zone. The county is currently monitoring the property to ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable regulations.

  • CHP helped with construction work at the intersection of Highway 1 South and the Buena Vista Drive offramp in Watsonville / Pajaro. The assistance was scheduled from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. today.
