Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • The southbound lanes of Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel are facing closures for road excavation. This closure will continue until 6:30 a.m. on August 29.

Community crime report

  • A man was arrested for having a warrant, driving with a suspended license, and possessing methamphetamine, a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia. He was cited and released at the police department. This happened at 2 a.m. on June 5 near Freedom Blvd. & Martinelli St. in Watsonville. (source)
     
  • A generator was stolen from a jobsite, and there is no information about the suspect. This is considered grand theft, a felony. The incident occurred near the 100 block of Roache Rd, Watsonville, at midnight on May 30. (source)
