• A traffic collision happened today on Highway 1 South near Freedom in Aptos. It involved an unknown truck with a white camper shell, possibly a Toyota. Vehicles were seen braking suddenly. Emergency services were on their way, but no damage was initially found on either side of the highway.
   
• A lane on South Highway 1 at Soquel Drive is closed for landscape work. The closure is expected to end by 11:59 p.m. March 31.
