Hi friends,

Is it me, or is “Severance” the most relevant watch on TV right now? As chilling and alienating as it is, it’s still more fun than the national news.

Now, on with the show.

Stand-up comedians DNA and Karin Babbitt will join forces for a comedy show March 21 at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center. Each comic will be recording their set to create albums for the Bay Area label Punchline Records. The fine French-American jazz vocalist Cecile McLorin Savant performs May 5 at the Kuumbwa. The long-standing Jamaican reggae group Third World will visit Moe’s Alley on April 12. Los Angeles rapper Dom Kennedy has a date at The Catalyst on April 17. The great Santa Cruz-based Beatles band The White Album Ensemble will be doing back-to-back shows Feb. 21 and 22 at the Kuumbwa. And the kirtan musical artist Jai Uttal, who was originally scheduled to do a show at the Rio on April 12, has moved that date back to Sept. 27, still at the Rio.

Be sure to check out Lookout’s carefully curated and constantly updated planning guide, Down the Line, for the staggering riches and amazing choices awaiting Santa Cruz audiences. It’s our look ahead at the best shows, concerts and events through the rest of the year at clubs, stages and venues all over the county.
