Santa Cruz County’s Department of Community Development & Infrastructure has launched a new dashboard for tracking and seeing the progress of repairs to county-maintained roads that have been damaged by severe storms over the past nine years.
“We believe that transparency is crucial in illustrating the overall impact of each storm event to our roadway system,” department director Matt Machado said in a release. “The GIS Dashboard not only provides critical information about storm damage but also provides valuable insights into progress on specific projects that our residents have been curious about.”
Special GIS features on the dashboard include an interactive map that consolidates historical storm damage data, “making it easier for the community to comprehend the long-term implications of storms on the county roadway system and track ongoing progress on specific project sites.”
The dashboard allows users to explore damage locations, evaluate associated costs for various projects and view photos of the site, repair timelines and more.
