Adrian Gonzalez’s trial for release continued Monday with a video from the Santa Cruz Police Department showing Gonzalez confessing to killing 8-year-old Madyson Middleton to police just two days after Middleton was reported missing in 2015. The trial will continue on Tuesday.

Watsonville Community Hospital investigating multiday computer network outage
A network outage that shut down Watsonville Community Hospital’s internet connection and electronic systems used for patient charts and prescription notifications continued into a fourth day Monday. The hospital has been operating on a paper system as third-party IT specialists investigate the outage’s cause, which began Friday.
