Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on August 28
- A hit and run with no reported injuries happened at 650 Soquel Dr in Aptos at 9:20 p.m. today.
- 5th Ave. at 430 5th Ave. in Santa Cruz will be closed on September 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. while PG&E replaces a utility pole and overhead transformer.
- Alba Rd in San Lorenzo Valley will be closed tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for tree removal work at 10370, 10885, and 11880 Alba Rd.
Long-term projects
These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.
- PG&E has started construction to replace a gas main in the Arroyo and Jolon Drive neighborhood off Green Valley Road in Corralitos / Freedom. There is a soft closure in the area, and work is expected to continue through November 25.
- A single lane on Soquel Ave. between La Fonda Ave. and State Park is closed on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for roadside sign installation. Traffic may be reduced to one lane in each direction at times. The closure will last through tomorrow.
